(12:32) LHP Colton Gordon, a highly-rated hurler in the Houston system, speaks about his start to the season. Gordon is now 2-1 with a 3.38 ERA in his last 3 starts, striking out 23 against 11 hits and 7 walks in 16.0 innings. (20:36) IF Shay Whitcomb, who ranks within Texas League's top 5 in home runs, extra base hits and RBIs, breaks down his approach to 2023. (1:20) Hooks Development Coach Vincent Blue, a product of Lamar High School in Houston, is in his second season as a member of the Astros player development staff. Prior to joining the Hooks in 2023, Blue worked at Houston’s Single-A club in Fayetteville, N.C. Selected in the 10th round of the 2001 draft, Blue played outfield, primarily center, for parts of seven seasons in the Detroit Tigers system. A .261 career hitter, he also played five years in independent ball. (10:12) Hooks right-hander Rhett Kouba established a new personal best for strikeouts April 27 at Midland, breezing 10 batters while allowing only 2 to reach base. Devin Conn and Tyler Brown pitched in as CC authored the ninth one-hitter in the 18-year history of the club. Kouba’s 6.0 innings pitched matched his best from a year ago. The outing stands as the longest by a Hooks pitcher this season. Kouba, who picked up his first Double-A win, has combined for 16 strikeouts against 4 hits and no walks in 10.0 innings over his last 2 games. (14:07) Hooks Manager Joe Thon delivers his Sunday with the Skipper address as the Hooks wrap their six-game set in the Permian Basin. (20:00) As a bonus cut, CC right-hander Aaron Brown speaks about his latest home start - April 19 vs. San Antonio - when he fired five innings of one-run baseball, permitting only a pair to reach.

Skipper Gregorio Petit discusses Corpus Christi's wild 15-11 win over the RockHounds in 12 innings Friday night.
Thomas Whitsett, in his first season as Hooks pitching coach, discusses the recent run of the club's success on the hill. Corpus Christi hurlers have allowed just 9 runs in 25.0 innings of work over the first 3 games in Midland, striking out 27 while walking 3.
Catcher Cesar Salazar became the first Hook to notch a four-hit game in 2022, going 4-for-5 with 4 runs scored, a home run and 3 RBIs Tuesday night in Midland. Salazar, who launched 8 home runs in his final 22 games last year, has begun this season by hitting safely in 3 of 4 assignments for a .471 batting average. His 8 knocks and 6 runs scored lead the club. The Hooks have won both games with Salazar behind the plate as CC pitchers have turned in a 3.00 ERA.
