The Jews had hoped for a new deliverer for a long time. What they got was not what they were expecting. The fulfillment did not take the form they wanted. The deliverer still came wrapped in cloth and placed in a feeding trough. This was the word becoming flesh. There were a lot of expectations but this is what it looked like when the hope of a deliverer became a human. The questions around hope are always connected to what does it look like when hope takes on flesh.

To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” How is Christ in you the hope of glory? How has that already happened? Where does God want to take that this next year?
