Director-writer John Boorman's ode to growing up in London during WW II has a remarkable relevance this week. Rich, Kofi & Blake look at the similarities and differences between a wartime childhood and what our children are facing during the current pandemic. What's worse: being able to play with your friends at a time when bombs rain down on you nightly? Or isolating yourself from almost all interaction, knowing that it's the best way to stay safe? 
We also look at the experience of Boorman's mother, left to raise her children when her husband enlists, and recall the moments when each of us realized that our own mothers have needs and desires beyond parenting. And when we say "desires" we mean... uh, well... yeah. Happy Mother's Day!
