Ashely Wellman, instructor of criminal justice at TCU, said she felt called to work with families who worried there would never be justice for their murdered loved ones. It went beyond criminal justice and Wellman found the human side of cold-case crimes. She is a public advocate for these families and advises police departments on how to better relate to grieving people who are still searching for answers.
