I woke up early this morning,

  bent my knees to clear my mind

The road ahead is certain

  like the past we left behind.

Just one way to climb this mountain,

  narrow path to faithful door.

Though the end is a beginning,

  I’ve been there once before.

Do you see it? 

  Our hope lies 

   on the other side

Can you see it through my eyes?

Well, the days will wear upon us

  but hope will call to carry on.

The wait bestowed upon us

  is the dark before the dawn.

And just before we see her rising

  and can feel her light and heat,

The grace of glory is disguising

  victory as our defeat.

Do you see it?

So take my hand now, oh my Darlin’

Hear our faith bid us ‘begin’

Further up and further in.
