God reveals Himself through many names in Scripture, each one showing a different aspect of His character. But one of the most personal and transformative ways we can know Him is simply as Father. He is not like any earthly father, whether good or bad. He loves His children deeply, disciplines them out of care, provides for their needs, and offers wisdom to anyone who asks. The story of the prodigal son captures this beautifully, showing a Father who never stopped watching and ran toward His child while he was still far off. You are not just a creation. You are a child of the Most High God, and that truth has the power to change everything about how you live and pray.

Every person who is far from God matters deeply to Him, and He has chosen ordinary people like us to reach them. In Luke 15, Jesus told the story of a shepherd who left 99 sheep to search for the one that was lost, making it clear that no one is too far gone to be worth pursuing. Going after the lost is not optional. It is rooted in obedience to God's commands, our obligation to one another, selfless love, and a servant's heart. You do not have to have all the right words or a perfect plan. A simple text, a bold prayer, a kind invitation, or faithfully using your gifts in your local church can be the very thing God uses to bring someone home. The lost matter to God, and He has entrusted the search to us.

Every person matters to God, and the parable of the lost sheep in Luke 15 makes that unmistakably clear. A shepherd who leaves 99 sheep to find just one is not being reckless. He is showing us the heart of God for every lost person. Going after the one requires love, compassion, support, and a genuine spirit of welcome. Someone once pursued you with the gospel, and now it is your turn to do the same for someone else. One person reaching one person can change everything. If you want to be that one person, this message is for you. 

At some point, every believer was the one. Lost. Away from the flock. In desperate need of someone to come after them. Somebody left the ninety-nine for you. Are you willing to do the same for someone else? Who is your one?

The letter to the church at Laodicea in Revelation 3 delivers one of Scripture's most direct challenges: a church that had grown comfortable, self-sufficient, and spiritually useless. Using the well-known local problem of lukewarm water, Jesus was not simply criticizing a lack of enthusiasm. He was calling out a community that had stopped serving any purpose at all. Like the city's water supply, which arrived neither refreshingly cold nor therapeutically hot, the church had nothing meaningful to offer the people around them. Material wealth had replaced dependence on God, and Jesus found Himself on the outside of His own congregation, knocking to be let back in. Everything God pours into us is meant to flow through us, and when we hoard His blessings instead of sharing them, the living water stagnates. The call is clear: open every room of your life to Jesus, let the Holy Spirit flow outward, and carry the name of God with purpose.

Grace is the foundation of the Christian life, yet it is easy to drift from it into busyness and performance. In Revelation 3, Jesus speaks to the church at Philadelphia about an open door that no one can close, and the greatest door God has ever opened is the door of grace. Just as John Newton, the author of Amazing Grace, was transformed from a slave trader into a pastor, grace meets us in our worst moments and makes us whole. When we stay connected to that grace, it naturally overflows into every relationship and area of life. We forgive because we have been forgiven. We love unconditionally because God has loved us unconditionally. A transformational church never gets over the grace that saved it, and it never keeps that grace to itself. God opened the door. Now let grace flow through you.

What if the God who knows everything also knows everything about you, and still chooses to draw near? Hagar was a runaway slave with no future. A woman in Luke 13 had been bent over and overlooked for 18 years. God stopped for both of them. He sees the people everyone else walks past. The question is: do we?

What if you had a reputation for being alive but were actually spiritually dead? That was the reality Jesus spoke directly to the church at Sardis, and it is a question worth sitting with today. Is your spiritual reputation on the outside an accurate reflection of what is happening on the inside? God is calling His people to wake up, remember, and press forward. There is always more of Him available to those willing to seek.

God sees your love, your faith, your service, and your growth, even when no one else does. But He also sees who is influencing you. Are the voices shaping your beliefs pointing you toward God's truth or pulling you away from it? The church at Thyatira faced that same question, and the answer Jesus gave them still matters today.
