This week we are brought into a moment of incredible joy for Mary and Elizabeth. On the outside you might think it is because they are both pregnant at the same time, or maybe because they haven’t seen each other in a long time but when we read the Magnificat, we realize the source of their joy is much deeper than that. Mary & Elizabeth realize they are part of God’s plan to bring renewal to their people. They realize God is up to something and they have been graced to be a part of it. This same joy is available to all of us as we see that through Jesus, we have been brought into the greatest story ever told and that is God’s love story for His people.
