If people see the good you do, is that automatically a problem? Or is the real question: Who gets the glory?

In Acts 4, Barnabas’ generosity became visible; but his life pointed beyond himself to what the grace of God was producing in him.
Jesus calls us to let our good works be seen in such a way that people glorify our Father in heaven not us.

Whether your service happens quietly or becomes visible to others, the heart-check remains the same: “Who did I want them to see?”

If the good work becomes visible, let it point beyond you.
Let them see something of Jesus through you.

What does God’s grace look like when it moves beyond what we believe and begins shaping how we live?

In Acts 4:32-35, we see a Spirit-filled church united around Jesus, holding what they had with open hands, noticing one another’s needs, and allowing the grace they had received to become visible in the way they cared for one another.

Great grace changes what “mine” means. Because God has been overwhelmingly generous toward us through Jesus, we can ask a different question: “Lord, how would You have me use what You have placed in my hand?” Our time, abilities, resources, encouragement, and practical help can all become ways God’s grace reaches someone else.

You don’t need a dramatic sign to know God is with you.

In Acts 4, the room shook; but the greater miracle was that God’s people were filled with the Holy Spirit and strengthened to keep going.

This message is a reminder that God sees what others may miss, your identity is secure because you belong to Jesus, and you don’t have to manufacture the strength to remain faithful. Whether the circumstances change or not, you can depend on the Holy Spirit for wisdom, courage, and strength for your next step.

The room doesn’t have to shake. God is with you. Depend on His Spirit and keep going.

What do you do when following Jesus brings pressure instead of relief?

In Acts 4:23–31, the early church shows us how to respond when obedience becomes costly: don’t carry the pressure alone, let God’s Word interpret what you’re facing, and pray for boldness, not just an easier circumstance.

We may not be able to control the threats, opinions, or pressures around us, but we can ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen us to remain faithful within them.

Pressure does not have to determine our witness. Jesus does.

In Acts 4:13-22, Peter and John show us that biblical boldness is not about personality, confidence, or speaking louder. It comes from being with Jesus.

As Christ shapes us through His Word, prayer, obedience, and the Holy Spirit, our lives begin to reflect Him and we become increasingly settled in what we have seen and heard.

"There is no other name under heaven given to people and we must be saved by it" (Acts 4:12)

When we compare Jesus ‘statement’ “No one comes to the Father, except through me” (John 14:6) with the claims of all the other beliefs and religions, what ‘do we do with Jesus’ own claims?
This is important, because if one is willing to accept Jesus, as even one of the ways to ‘peace’ with God; Jesus does not permit us to reduce Him to one option among many. He says He is the only way (John 14:6-7)
The Kindness of God is He has made the way to Him clearly known, through His Son Jesus.

God freely offers salvation to everyone, but the way into that wide-mercy is through faith in Jesus Christ alone.

In Acts 4:5-12, Peter boldly declares that the Jesus humanity rejected is the cornerstone God established, and the only Saviour through whom we can be reconciled to Him.

Anyone may come; but everyone must come through Jesus.

Peter and John faithfully proclaimed Jesus and were thrown into prison. Yet while opposition restrained the messengers, it could not imprison the gospel.

In this message from Acts 4, we discover that difficult circumstances do not mean Jesus has abandoned us. When rejection, hardship, failure, or spiritual testing shakes our faith, we are invited to lean further into Christ. The same Jesus who restored Peter after his failure strengthened him to stand boldly when opposition came.

Resistance may shake Christ’s followers, but it cannot overturn Christ’s promise: “I will build my church.” Jesus remains the unshakable foundation, the gospel continues to transform hearts, and even the power of death cannot overcome what He is building.

Following Jesus will not always make life more comfortable. Sometimes faithfulness brings resistance; but resistance does not mean the gospel is failing.
In Acts 4:1-4, Peter and John are arrested for proclaiming that Jesus Christ has risen from the dead. Although the authorities can restrain the messengers, they cannot imprison the message. As thousands respond in faith, we are reminded that the gospel continues to transform hearts and that Jesus will faithfully build His Church even in the face of opposition.
This message challenges us to remain faithful when Christ’s truth confronts us, when obedience becomes costly, and when following Jesus brings misunderstanding or rejection. Our confidence is not simply that we are holding onto Jesus, but that Jesus continues to hold onto us.
