Now God designed the human machine to run on Himself.” So many people today are trying to run their lives without God, and yet we simply can't operate successfully without Him fueling our lives. The style of worship, chairs versus pews, or even something as simple as the color of carpet in the sanctuary. As we'll see today, some things are just not worth dividing over. Often when someone corrects us, we go on the defensive, ignore it, or dismiss it as if the one correcting us is in the wrong. But a wise person profits from a biblical rebuke. It's one of the tools God uses to sanctify us. What pops into your mind when I say idolatry? Perhaps you think of Old Testament times, when people gathered around and gave glory to a statue in the form of a calf. Idolatry is alive and well here in the 21st century just as it was back then, and it takes on a variety of forms. It's really anything that keeps us from worshipping Jesus Christ as Lord.
