Everyone faces trouble and contrary to what some teach, God's people are not immune. Today on Hope From the Word, we offer an example. It's been said when trouble comes into our lives, we can do one of three things: we can seek to escape it, endure it, or enlist it. Often neglect is the cause of a fire dying. And that can usually explain someone's stagnant relationship with the Lord. Sometimes that neglect is because we're too busy serving the Lord. God is patient but cannot leave sin unchecked in our lives or it will destroy us. The same is true for a nation. So, God chastises His people so that they might be delivered from sin and restored. We'll be reminded today that God is holy and must deal with sin. But He is also a loving God and restores the sinner. Aren't you glad for that? Restoration is a great theme in the Old Testament book of Ezra, and it's what we'll consider in the coming days. We're pleased to present Hope From The Word a ministry of Calvary Chapel of Marlton, we'll be joined by Pastor Bill Luebkemann in a second as he resumes his study in Second Chronicles. When we left you yesterday, Pastor Bill was recounting the reign of King Hezekiah. He was a good and godly king. In chapter thirty-three, his son Manasseh takes the throne and the first half of his reign was not a pretty picture. Unlike his father, he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. But he did eventually come around, humbling himself and turning to the Lord. So let's join Pastor Bill and see what we can learn from this king's reign.
