HOPE HAS A NAME

Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

 

WONDERFUL COUNSELOR

• BE BRUTALLY HONEST WITH THE COUNSELOR. 

John 4:16-17 (Jesus) told her, "Go, call your husband and come back."  "I have no husband," she replied. Psalms 55:22 Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall. 

 

• LISTEN TO THE COUNSELOR’S VOICE. 

John 10:27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 

 

• DO WHAT THE COUNSELOR TELLS YOU TO DO. 

John 5:8 Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.

 

MIGHTY GOD

• JESUS’ POWER IS AT WORK IN YOU.

Philippians 2:13 For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. 

 

• JESUS’ POWER IS AT WORK FOR YOU.

Isaiah 40:29-31 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.

 

• JESUS’ POWER IS AT WORK THROUGH YOU.

Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

 

EVERLASTING FATHER

Psalm 103:8 ‘The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.’ Matthew 11:28-29 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

 

PRINCE OF PEACE

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
