Every good love story has some of the same ingredients. Conflicted people are brought together by circumstances beyond their control and are redeemed by their love which changes everything. The book of Ruth is a love story for the ages. In chapter 1, we see the tragic plight for three widows, but we also see how God, the lover of all humanity is working in the background to redeem them.
