Everyone loves sitcoms---it’s a predictable 30-minute journey with the same story arc. Everything starts fine. A problem or conflict is introduced. The family/group/individual works hard and everything is resolved happily ever after. The problem is that real life is not a sitcom. Life is challenging and unfortunately, the fairy tale ending isn’t promised. As followers of Jesus, we embrace and wrestle with the seeming disconnect of the nature of God and the reality of life around ourselves. Jesus is literally the Hope in the dark and His entry into world at Christmas was hope realized.
