Hope in the Face Of Death (Luke 24:36-47)
Death is a subject we usually try to avoid. The reason we’re afraid of death, is often because we’re unsure of what’s next. Of course, the Bible promises that if we believe in Jesus, one day we’ll be raised from death and go to be with him in his Kingdom. Death is nothing to fear. But the fact is – many people are not sure what will happen to them when they die. Many are afraid of death. What about you? Do you have real hope in the face of death?
Introduction: What will happen when I die?
Luke 1:4 - ‘that you may have certainty’
1. Jesus’ resurrection was real (36-43)
a. Unexpected
b. Touch & See
c. Food
2. Jesus’ resurrection was promised (44-46)
a. God’s Promised Saviour
b. God’s Eternal King
3. Jesus’ resurrection demands a response (47-49)
a. Repentance
b. Forgiveness
