HOPE: Ruth's Rights

I am the son of a retired United Methodist minister, the Rev. Dr. Billy Seate. I received my undergraduate degree from Campbell University, where I met my wife Jennifer. Jennifer and I  were married shortly after we graduated on July 17, 1993. As Jennifer began law school at Campbell, I began to wrestle with God about my calling to the ministry. But our God is a mighty God, and eventually I relented and consented to follow Him. Soon I began to work as the Youth Director at Divine St. UMC in Dunn, and I began my studies at Duke Divinity School after Jennifer completed her Juris Doctorate in 1996. In 1997, I began serving as the pastor of my first congregation – Leslie UMC, which was located just outside of Dunn. During our time there, our 2 sons were born – Jacob and Aaron. Fast forwarding several years, Jacob is now a Senior and Aaron is a Junior at the Wayne School of Engineering. Jennifer practices law with her firm Leone Noble and Seate, which is based in Raleigh (even though she is able to work at home several days a week). We are so excited to be a part of the Garris Chapel ministry team, and we anticipate God doing a mighty thing! You can contact Pastor Adam at adamseate@nccumc.org
