Horizontal awe was designed to awaken vertical awe. God filled this world with things that stop us in our tracks—the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, a sky full of stars—not merely so we would marvel at creation, but so creation would turn our attention toward the Creator. When we stand in awe of what God has made while ignoring the One who made it, we miss the very purpose of the wonder. But when we intentionally enjoy His creation and allow that awe to become worship, wonder becomes a doorway to deeper reverence and gratitude. This sets us up for receiving the many benefits promised to those who fear Him.

In this episode we'll look at an often forgotten promise of Jesus, "In this world you will have troubles..." What do we do when we face those troubles? When we're hit with untimely challenges that make us feel hemmed in and helpless?
