Hopeful Influence in the Church Pt.2

Leadership is a strange, often inadequately defined activity. It divides opinion. Yet seems to be central to much of our human flourishing. Good leadership brings life. Bad leadership often death.

Whatever leadership is exactly, it seems to manifest itself through our influence on each other. Christian leadership, or influence, seems to be about facilitating collective movement into a better future. A movement towards a God-shaped renewal of the creation around us.

This movement towards a renewed world is at the heart of the Christian Hope. A Hope in Jesus and His Spirit’s transforming work in and through us. Is Christian Leadership best understood as a special kind of Hopeful Influence?
