Time came to a standstill for Horus as she gently raised the glistening sphere from its cradle. She had finally found it. The sacred texts had not told of its perfect geometry, or how looking into it felt like staring into the depths of infinity. Only that taking a sip from the Orb of Ra would free the mind of the physical body and grant its imbiber immortality.

She was oblivious to the sentinels as they trained their psylasers on her vital organs. Slowly, she raised the Orb to her lips, and closed her eyes as she inhaled its contents.

The sentinels fired.

Her Xithricite armour did nothing to prevent her delicate body from being obliterated.

But it didn't matter.
