many peopple say tht their past defines them. Others say they are determined to change who they are because of their past, and that new trajectory defines who they truly become.

Elizabeth Bennett says, “being a survivor of domestic violence, sexual abuse and bullying as a young person, has taught me that in order to succeed in life, I must be willing to do whatever it takes to heal and move forward. I have used my past as a vehicle of opportunity to flourish in the present and in the future."

Her 35-year career in high schools as an educator, administrator, and principal and now as a student and parent coach, is helping families understand one another better, to become 'curiously engaged'  with one another with "Courageous Conversations," which happens to be the title of her latest book.

We all know that teens have a lot going on in their bodies, minds and emotions and it's important for them to know that as parents, we're here for them. We truly are listening to them.

Ms. Bennett is also thankful for her parents who handed down “a fiery attitude and a heart-centered desire to empower people and help them transform, so that they can live the life that they desire”!

Her new book, Courageous Conversations, gives parents easy-to-implement strategies to create a powerful and loving relationship with their teen, without lectures, shame or guilt.

As an award winning principal with over 35 years of teaching, administration and coaching experience, I offer a unique blend of leadership, vision and a vast background of knowledge.

*I have a relentless passion for transforming this broken, violent and socially isolated environment of dysfunction to a space of courageous conversations, empowering people to take on their lives with joy and love. I am dedicated to sharing this message of hope, especially with parents, educators, business and community leaders.

*Being a survivor of domestic violence, sexual abuse and bullying as a young person, it has taught me that in order to succeed in life I must be willing to do whatever it takes to heal and move forward. I have used my past as a vehicle of opportunity to flourish in the present and in the future.

*I am eternally grateful for the genes of determination and persistence which I inherited from my parents, which also provides me with a fiery attitude and a heart-centered desire to empower people and help them transform so that they can live the life that they desire.

"Should Have Listened To My Mother" is an ongoing conversation about mothers/female role models and the roles they play in our lives. Jackie's guests are open and honest and  answer the question, are you who you are today because of, or in spite of, your mother and so much more. You'll be amazed at what the responses are.
