Celebrating the holidays without overspending is more important now than ever before. With the price of literally everything increasing, you need to be mindful of your holiday spending.
Spending time together as a family and with loved ones is what the holidays is all about, not how many gifts one receives or gives, or how much you spend on your brother-in-law or niece.
As far as food goes, there are lots of ways to have a frugal feast!
A frugal feast is all about celebrating the holidays with delicious food, a warm and inviting atmosphere, and meaningful connections while keeping your spending in check.
Have others bring a dish to pass, opt for low-cost drinks, and side dishes, and save the leftovers! If you have family staying for more than a day, plan on eating the leftovers too, or you can freeze them for later. Utilize coupons and make most of the food from scratch as this will typically keep costs low.
When hosting a frugal feast, I want you to carefully plan your menus, decorations, and activities to stay within your predetermined budget. This will help prevent you from overspending.
Have guests bring board games and even some of the decorations. Many hands make a budget-friendly holiday event!
You can also have your kids pitch in on making some handmade decorations for the feast!
Remember WHY you are celebrating the holiday and the true meaning of the holiday.
