The Cornell Seven allegations. The fraternity messages. The investigation prosecutors are reopening. What happened after Jane Doe asked for help?
We examine the alleged Chi Phi assault, the disputed investigative accounts, and Cornell’s disciplinary response—including what the university says about essays, suspensions, and expulsions. He then puts the case in context with sexual violence statistics and a direct conversation about consent, male entitlement, and accountability.
Content note: rape, sexual assault, drug use, and explicit language. The allegations have not been established by criminal convictions.

The gay news cycle is absolutely unhinged this week.
Joshua breaks down five major LGBTQ stories, beginning with the hate-motivated shooting outside Venture-N, a longtime gay bar in Tucson, Arizona, where two men were killed. Then, some genuinely historic news: Everton Blair Jr. has become Georgia’s first openly gay congressman and the first openly gay Black congressman from the South.
We’re also getting into Derek Chadwick leaving the gay dating app Goose following controversy involving apparently AI-generated accounts used to promote the platform; Trump-backed congressional candidate Marty O’Donnell’s inflammatory comments about LGBTQ people, Pride and an alleged ideological threat to the West; and a new amfAR report documenting more than 1,700 HIV service-site closures following disruptions and cuts affecting PEPFAR.
Tragedy, progress, AI twinks, politics and HIV prevention. Just another normal week in gay news.

Why did you lose motivation—and how do you get motivated again without completely overhauling your life?
We’re talking about motivation, discipline, habit formation and why even incredibly consistent people go through periods where their routines completely fall apart.
Josh gets personal about a year where his workouts, eating habits, vitamins, sleep and nightly reading have all been less consistent than usual—and why constantly comparing himself to his most disciplined era was making the problem worse.
We’re breaking down why motivation naturally rises and falls, the difference between motivation and habits, how novelty can make new routines feel exciting before they eventually become ordinary, and why changes in stress, schedule and environment can disrupt behaviors that once felt automatic.
We also get into the trap of all-or-nothing thinking: missing one workout and deciding the entire week is ruined, eating differently for a few days and believing you’ve “fallen off,” or abandoning a creative project because you stopped feeling inspired.
Research on motivation also gives us a more useful way to think about the problem. Self-determination theory, for example, emphasizes that motivation is influenced by experiences like autonomy, competence and connection rather than simply being something certain people permanently possess. Research has also found that responding to failure with self-compassion can actually support motivation to improve rather than automatically making people complacent.Â
Finally, we’re getting practical: minimum viable habits, reducing friction, creating specific if-then plans, adjusting routines when life changes and learning how to return without turning your comeback into punishment. Research on implementation intentions supports the usefulness of these specific cue-based plans for turning intentions into action.Â
Because consistency doesn’t mean doing something perfectly forever.
Consistency is returning.

Why is everyone so annoying sometimes? And why can a tiny inconvenience suddenly make us completely lose our patience?
We’re talking about irritability, frustration, overstimulation, ADHD, anxiety, and why everyday annoyances can sometimes trigger reactions that feel way bigger than the situation itself.
Bad drivers. Slow walkers. People blocking the grocery aisle. Speakerphone conversations in public. Someone who waits ten minutes in line and only starts deciding what they want when they reach the register. We all have things that instantly get under our skin—but what determines which behaviors drive us crazy?
Josh explores how our personal history can shape our triggers, why feeling rushed or out of control makes minor inconveniences feel more intense, and how ADHD, anxiety, stress, poor sleep and overstimulation can leave us with very little patience to spare.
We also get practical with one of the simplest tools Joshua learned in therapy: when something starts sending you over the edge, ask yourself how serious the actual situation is on a scale from 1 to 10. Sometimes the event is a three while your nervous system is already sitting at an eight.
This episode is not about pretending rude or inconsiderate people aren’t annoying. It’s about learning how to notice when a small irritation is becoming bigger than the moment—and how to stop giving one bad driver control over the rest of your fucking afternoon.

What does real LGBTQ allyship look like when queer people aren’t in the room? And are you actually being an ally—or just behaving differently when your LGBTQ friend, sibling, coworker, or family member is watching?
In this episode of HOT AIR with Joshua Robert, we’re talking about the side of allyship nobody posts on Instagram: the group chats, golf outings, family dinners, workplaces, parties, and private conversations where homophobic jokes or comments can suddenly become acceptable because the queer person isn’t there.
Joshua breaks down why loving an LGBTQ person and knowing how to support them are not automatically the same thing, how supposedly harmless language can contribute to a larger culture of homophobia, and why real allyship requires your values to remain consistent whether or not somebody from that community is standing beside you.
We also get practical about how to be a better LGBTQ ally: how to challenge homophobic jokes without giving a twenty-minute lecture, how to ask questions that encourage people to examine their assumptions, when to correct someone privately, when stronger boundaries are necessary, and what questions you should ask the LGBTQ people in your own life about the kind of support they actually want.
If something would feel wrong to say with your queer friend sitting beside you, their absence probably doesn’t suddenly make it harmless.

Sometimes you need to work on yourself. Sometimes your partner actually is the problem.
In Part Two of HOT AIR’s deep dive into the supposed “five stages of long-term love,” Joshua breaks down stages three through five: the Villain/Victim Era, Mirror Mirror, and the idea of finally reaching a “conscious relationship.”
When does healthy self-reflection become endless self-blame? Does fighting for a relationship always mean staying? Can previous relationships train us to expect rejection and judgment from partners who aren’t actually treating us that way? And does a healthy relationship really have a final stage?
Joshua also opens up about the contrast between his marriage and his current relationship with Kai, including learning to express difficult emotions without feeling interrogated, letting someone see his authentic personality, and realizing that one person’s behavior does not predict how every future partner will treat you.
Because chemistry isn’t enough. Staying isn’t automatically commitment. Leaving isn’t automatically failure. And healing doesn’t always mean learning how to tolerate more.
Maybe the most important question in a relationship isn’t “What stage are we in?”
It’s “Am I becoming more myself here—or less?”

Do healthy relationships really go through five predictable stages—or has Instagram turned love into another fucking checklist?
After seeing a viral Reel describe the “five stages of long-term love,” Joshua is breaking down why relationship frameworks like this can contain pieces of truth while still being incredibly misleading.
We’re talking about the honeymoon phase, chemistry versus compatibility, relationship conflict, communication and repair, the so-called “villain/victim era,” emotional triggers, healing, conscious relationships, and the dangerous idea that surviving increasingly difficult stages somehow proves your relationship is meant to last.
Joshua also opens up about the differences between his marriage and his relationship with Kai: what it feels like to have your emotions questioned versus being given space to express them, learning to stop hiding pieces of yourself, and realizing that one painful relationship does not mean every future partner will treat you the same way.
Because conflict does not automatically equal growth. Staying does not automatically equal commitment. Leaving does not automatically equal failure.
And healthy love might have much less to do with what “stage” you’re in than whether you can safely, honestly, and fully be yourself with the person you love.

Manifesting is easy. Taking action is where things get uncomfortable.
In Part Two of Hot Air’s manifestation deep dive, Joshua asks what happens after you make the vision board, write down the goal, visualize your future, and tell the universe exactly what you want.
We’re exploring the psychology behind turning goals into action: why confidence often develops after you begin, how self-efficacy can influence persistence, why specific if-then plans can make intentions easier to act on, and why almost every meaningful goal requires you to tolerate some amount of uncertainty, rejection, boredom, discomfort, or fear.
Then we’re getting into the dark side of manifestation culture. When does positive thinking become toxic positivity? Can “scarcity mindset” become a convenient way of blaming people for circumstances outside their control? And where is the line between believing you can influence your life and pretending you control absolutely everything that happens to you?
Finally, Joshua shares a practical manifestation framework for turning the life you imagine into decisions you can actually make today.
Manifest. Dream ridiculously big. Make the vision board. But eventually, somebody has to send the email.
This is Part Two of Hot Air’s manifestation series. Listen to Part One for the science and psychology behind visualization, selective attention, writing down goals, and why manifestation can feel so powerful.

🔥 Mental health, relationships, dating, self-improvement, therapy, pop culture, politics, and modern life — without the bullshit . HOT AIR is a funny, honest podcast for people trying to…
Hosted by Joshua Robert, HOT AIR combines humor, personal stories, psychology, research, cultural commentary, and unapologetic opinions to explore what it actually takes to grow, date, heal, build confidence, navigate adulthood, and stay sane when everything feels a little unhinged.
From dating advice, relationships, heartbreak, situationships, communication, and red flags to therapy, anxiety, confidence, self-worth, motivation, emotional wellness, and personal growth, HOT AIR gets into the messy parts of being human that don't fit neatly into an inspirational quote.
And because our lives don't happen in a vacuum, we also talk about what's happening around us: pop culture, celebrity news, internet trends, politics, current events, social issues, family dynamics, wellness, psychology, and the cultural conversations everyone suddenly has an opinion about.
Some episodes are deeply personal. Some are educational. Some are ridiculous. Usually, they're a little bit of everything.
HOT AIR is for listeners who want to understand themselves better without listening to another person tell them to wake up at 5 a.m., drink celery juice, and manifest a yacht. Expect honest conversations about mental health, modern dating, relationships, therapy, self-improvement, motivation, psychology, pop culture, politics, and navigating adulthood — with humor, vulnerability, curiosity, and the occasional completely unnecessary rant.
If you're trying to improve your relationships, become more confident, understand your emotions, survive the dating world, make sense of current events, or simply figure out what the hell you're doing with your life, you're in the right place.
