Craig Robert Young is an actor and CEO of Brits in LA, a private social and online networking phenomenon that offers advice on moving and settling in LA for the Brits and those who ‘like us’. As a teenager he studied at drama school in England and was a member of a pop band Deuce for a several years. When he returned to acting he starred in a long-running, award-winning British television series Dream Team. Then in 2001 he gave it all up and crossed the Atlantic to LA with only $452 and a dream in his pocket. There he re-established himself as an actor, and has starred in a plethora of roles including Lost and other JJ Abrahms shows and every episode of the Whoopi Goldberg produced show ‘Just for Kicks’.
He talks with Elizabeth about what drew him to LA; taking risks; the mental state of mind ‘of having nothing to lose’ yet still being prepared when opportunity arises and how he set up his charity with the British Consul to support UK expatriates in need in LA.
