WHY WE ARE MAD AT BARBIE LEAVING EUPHORIA & GABBIE HANNA'S MANIC TIKTOKS + COMPLICATED PARASOCIAL RELATIONSHIPS | Your favourite Hot Girls Ash (@ashleighxorose) & Indi (@fueledbyindi) are ready to pop off on everything in pop culture that they have kept in until today! After a brief catch-up on what has kept them busy, we begin with what you have been waiting for: Indi reacts to Barbie Ferreira leaving Euphoria and why it's so deeply riddled with fatphobia.
The conversation then switches to how Gabbie Hanna has left the bipolar community raging more than any chemical imbalance could cause. Is she truly ill with bipolar or using her mania to sell her underperforming album? Ash breaks down how two things can be true at once and how her recent manic TikTok spree fuels the stigma that affects those with bipolar.
From Bad Bunny's 'queer-baiting' scandal to problematic favs of the moment, the Hot Girls are back with the juice, as well as the tea.

ANALYSING DISABILITY & MENTAL ILLNESS IN POP CULTURE | This week Ash (@ashleighxorose) & Indi (@fueledbyindi) are joined by the wonderful Steph Fornasier (she/her) of the Psychocinematic Podcast. Discussions this week pertain to Steph’s special interests: disability and mental health representation in media.
Because media is so intrinsic to every aspect of our society, as we have explored here on the podcast before, representation matters. From critiquing mental illness and the depictions of asylums in film and TV, to throwing What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (and Leo DiCaprio) under the bus.
We hope these conversations allow for a thought provoking episode as we try and break down harmful tropes and look to the positive depictions we desperately need more of.

NON BINARY PEOPLE DON'T OWE YOU ANDROGYNY | This week we're joined by Alix (@alixbayliss | they/them) who graced the podcast to talk about their experience and journey as a queer, gender non conforming person.
Our discussions took us to amazing places as we spoke about using makeup and fashion to play with identity and gender bend. How being confused by your own gender is made easier when you confuse others, how freeing it was when Alix shaved their head. The cult of tumblr.com and how it was intrinsic this was in adolescence. Before finally finishing off with the topic of art intersecting on activism and the perils of personal responsibility around social issues.
