Hot summer means gooey bacteria blooms on Lake Champlain

It’s high summer, hot and humid. That makes for perfect swimming weather. Unfortunately, it also breeds perfect conditions for dangerous bacteria blooms. On Lake Champlain, volunteer monitors have already seen an uptick in the number of blooms - sometimes known as blue-green algae. Climate change could cause even more outbreaks in the future.
