House of Faith | Transformation vs Stagnation

Listen Later

In this episode, we gathered to explore a central truth: faith is built on revelation, not religion. We reflected on how understanding revelation shifts us from a transactional, performance-based mindset into a relational walk with God. Through Paul’s confrontation of Peter in Galatians 2, we discussed how loyalty to truth may require lovingly correcting even close friends when they drift from Scripture. Anchored in Romans 12:1-2, we unpacked Paul’s call to present ourselves as living sacrifices and refuse conformity, recognizing that transformation begins internally through the renewing of the mind. Real change is not about trying harder, it’s about thinking differently, allowing a renewed perspective of God to reshape how we see ourselves, suffering, success, and purpose.

Turning to Colossians 2:6-8, we examined the subtle danger of spiritual stagnation; being fluent in Christian language yet lacking growth. As a group, we discussed how worldly philosophies, cultural traditions, and popular ideas can quietly take believers captive when they are not filtered through Christ and Scripture. We identified markers of stagnation and contrasted them with evidence of transformation such as humility, discernment, accountability, emotional maturity, and consistent character under pressure. We closed by reminding one another that renewal is a daily journey sustained by grace, and that a rooted, Christ-centered mind produces a rooted, Christ-centered life.
