Here we have the Antagonist and Protagonist. We also have those who are in the middle of the judgment of God. Herein, we find truth, judgment, righteousness, and a God who is governor of the nations.

One problem for this Assyrian king is that he is not his dad Sargon. He decided to go against Jerusalem. Before he got there he moved across the land sending terror. No one could stop it him, or so he thought. Overlooking Jerusalem from Mount Zion, the enemy had a good view of Israel. Today, we find the justice, judgment, and ongoing hand of God stalwort in dealing with Judah’s sins. This will culminate years later. For now, the deliverance is real and so is the devastation to the land before the enemy was stopped.House of Jacob – Isaiah is one of the most prophetic and metaphoric works in scripture today. Although, a long time ago, we find out that in the nations of men and women; the evil that pulls us from the Lord God has not changed. While the covenant in Isaiah day was from the Sinai covenant and the Abrahamic covenant; there are many things that speak to us. We are in the days of the new covenant and the Spiritual Israel. A calling to Israel of old and a message to the gentiles to come to him; we can find all of it in this book. Behind it is Mercy, Salvation, and the Day of the Lord.House of Jacob Isa 10:20-25 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. (21) The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God. (22) For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness. (23) For the Lord GOD of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land. (24) Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt. (25) For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease, and mine anger in their destruction.
