Are we actually doing a part two?! Yes we are! And… It’s our 40th episode!
In the second episode of our relationship series, Nick, CJ, & Leana sit down to talk about God’s Heart in Dating.
While Scripture doesn’t give us a modern-day dating manual, it gives us principles that can guide us toward healthy relationships and ultimately toward covenant. In this conversation, we talk about dating with purpose, the importance of character and attraction, wise counsel, healthy boundaries, spiritual compatibility, and learning to discern whether a relationship is actually drawing you closer to Jesus.
We also tackle some of the common pressures and misconceptions surrounding Christian dating: Do you have to know someone is “the one”? Does God tell you who to marry? How soon is too soon to get married? What does healthy conflict look like? What boundaries should you have? And what happens when your dating story hasn’t looked perfectly “Christian”?
Dating is a process of discernment, and sometimes realizing a relationship shouldn’t lead to marriage isn’t failure at all. It may mean the process did exactly what it was supposed to do.
Most importantly, this conversation is a reminder that God’s grace is bigger than our mistakes. Even when boundaries have been crossed or relationships haven’t been handled well in the past, repentance, humility, wisdom, and healthy boundaries can make room for a beautiful story of redemption.
Whether you’re single, currently dating, or preparing for a future relationship, our hope is that this episode helps take some of the pressure out of dating and brings the focus back where it belongs: becoming more like Jesus and pursuing relationships in a way that honors Him.
