Houston is buzzing this week with events for every mood and interest. Kicking off Thursday, July 17th, Reset Houston hosts its Concert After Party Series starting at 10 p.m. on Dennis Street, where DJ Ay, DJ JinoSpinz, Mc Billy, DJ Boomz, and DJ Ehnny will keep the energy high until 2 a.m. If you want live music on Thursday night, a short ride to Sugar Land rewards you with the Goo Goo Dolls and Dashboard Confessional in concert at Smart Financial Centre, with classics like Name, Iris, and Slide sharing the spotlight alongside their new music.

Friday, Mo Amer, Houston’s own comedy star celebrated for his Netflix specials, brings his El Oso Palestino Tour to 713 Music Hall. Expect a night filled with sharp wit and signature Houston flavor as he takes the stage at 8 p.m.

For families and thrill-seekers on Saturday and Sunday, Toyota Center becomes an adrenaline zone with Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live: Glow-N-Fire. Three shows will showcase monster machines like Mega Wrex, Tiger Shark, Bone Shaker, and the all-new Skelesaurus. Bigfoot’s birthday celebration is set to ramp up the action even further. Art lovers can spend Saturday at Rice University’s Moody Center for the Arts discovering Summer Jam 2025, running from noon to 5 p.m. Highlights include engaging art activities, explorations of “Figurative Histories” and “Collective Memories” exhibitions, indoor farmers market shopping, and The Reading Room pop-up—all for free. Meanwhile, ARTECHOUSE Houston launches Rolling Stone presents Amplified, an immersive rock n’ roll experience, with a 270-degree visual and sound showcase of Rolling Stone’s best moments. Tickets range from $29 to $39 and the show runs until August 31st.

For theatre fans Saturday, MATCH hosts Crabs in a Bucket, a biting satire about two bickering crabs and their view on the world. The show begins at 4 p.m. with a pay-what-you-can ticket.

Families and dog lovers can catch the Houston World Series of Dog Shows at NRG Center, a four-day event all weekend long featuring more than 150 breeds battling for Best in Show, along with exhibitions, shopping, and pet-friendly activities, according to 365 Things to Do in Houston.

Friday evening at Marriott Marquis Houston, Hulu presents Summer Poolside Cinema, an ideal outdoor movie experience with the Houston skyline as the backdrop.

Saturday and Sunday, architecture and nature meet in Falon Mihalic’s Verdant Laboratory at Architecture Center Houston, while Market Square Park keeps the community active with Family Fitness classes on Saturday afternoon and Relax and Restore sessions Monday evening.
