As ABCs soaps go through a rather ill-timed renaissance, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS and DAYS OF OUR LIVES seem to be floundering in a swamp comprised of equal parts dismal storylines with no end in sight, character assasinations and a refusal to give fans what they want.
