Our self-esteem is at the heart of our contribution towards the lives of those we cherish, and to society in general. The lower your self-esteem, the more destructive you will be in those relationships while convincing yourself that your battle against the world is justified.
Sometimes, it creates a passive-aggressive tone that appears to be sincerely selfless, but becomes overbearingly stifling the moment we feel the threat of being unappreciated or taken for granted.
Your self-esteem is defined by what you take from your experiences in life, and your understanding of why others treat you the way that you do. If you don’t reflect on that, you will always be driven by what happens to you, instead of claiming your ability to influence how you want to change what happens to you or how others experience you.
