Many years ago, Rich Mullins declared in a song “Our God Is an Awesome God.” Today I will affirm that statement. The rising sun has not cleared the trees yet but a shaft of light has broken through. Like an ambassador of the day, it paints a portion of the tree in my yard with a golden slash. It is a beautiful clear morning. From eight miles away I can hear the rumble of a train. Nearby a bunch of crows are having a raucous debate. As the morning breaks and the blackbird speaks, God’s Glory is revealed and I do not doubt that He is an awesome God.
