May 5 2019 Sunday How Beautiful Are The Feet Pastor John C. Mathis Cleveland Christian Fellowship 695 South Ocoee Street Cleveland TN 37311 423-476-2642     “The two most important days in your life are (1) the day you are born and (2) the day you find out why. Mark Twain   Jeremiah 29:11-13; 1 Corinthians 2:9, 10 God has big plans prepared (made and kept ready) for you Isaiah 48:17 the Lord teaches you to profit and leads you by the way that you should go
  • To really experience the Fullness of that Life (Zoe) this side of heaven, you'll have to lay hold to God's High Calling—It’s different for each of us.  Your high calling is God's perfect will for your life.  It’s your divine destiny.  It's being in the place for which He Uniquely Created you—up to you to Discover that Place (notice I didn’t say Decide)
Ephesians 1:18 (part of the daily prayer) 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of His Calling   Colossians 1:9 9 that you may be filled with the knowledge of His Will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;    Filled: The word "filled," Greek word pleroo meaning, "to cram or to overstuff.”
  • Can you imagine being “so-stuffed” with His Will that No-one and nothing could get you off track—no person and no devil could dissuade your Direction? There would be NO ROOM FOR ANYTHING ELSE
  • A person who doesn’t know the Will of God for their life will always be “looking elsewhere” because they’re never Satisfied—Unfulfilled—Growing Impatient
  • There is so much more to this life!
Reasons Ppl Enter Ministry (To Serve)   1. See a need that they can meet (I can do that…)   2. Asked to help those already ministering to others   Matthew 10:8 Talking to the 12 disciples…after He gave them power in verse one—sending them out 8 Freely you have received, freely give
  • We are ALL truly called to be Generous with our lives
Romans 1:16 Apostle Paul says… 16 For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ (this message is offensive to the world)
  • The Good News of Jesus Christ is more than facts to be believed; it is also the Message of a life to be lived
Mark 16:15-18 After the resurrection he appeared to the 11—Great Commission   John 3:16 God’s deepest desire is for all of mankind to spend eternity with Him   2 Corinthians 5:17-19 Ministry of Reconciliation
  • We all have the privilege of Announcing to the world the Message of what God did for us through Jesus—we are Messengers of God’s love and provision
  • So we need to find out what Jesus accomplished on the cross so that we’ll know what belongs to us—and in turn be able to share with others
Important: We need to present “An Accurate Representation” of our God—the world only sees through the eyes of religion   3. Sense a Genuine “Call” to reach and develop ppl (5 Fold)
  • These individuals willingly give their lives, their time, their attn to focus on the mission of “investing in the lives of others”
Romans 10:13-15   Isaiah 52:4 4 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings (good news)
  • Find out the will of God for your life, then confer no longer with the flesh, and get the job done at all costs. Oral Roberts
  • We ALL have a Life Assignment (A Specific Life Calling) that we are to carry out during our time on this earth—and we will ALL give an account for our response to that call
Matthew 7:14 14 Because strait is the gate and narrow is the way which leads unto life, and few there be that find it
  • Not everyone will be “counted faithful” because the road is not always easy
John 17:4 I have finished the work…(Easter Message…)   This word for finished was used when a servant was sent on a mission and later returned to his master.  Upon finishing the assignment the servant would say “Tetelestai” which meant “I have done exactly what you requested” or “The mission is now accomplished.”
  • It’s the DASH between the dates on your tombstone that matter the most. What did you do with your life?  Did it make a lasting impact—could I have done more?
Ps 39:4 David wrote 4 Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered, and that my life is fleeing away
  • Your life is Precious—Valuable—don’t waste it. Get busy pursuing the Calling that God has on your life. Don’t run from it
2 Timothy 4:1-8 5 Make full proof of your ministry   1 Corinthians 9:16, 17 Consider this… 16 For though I preach the Gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, WOE IS UNTO ME, if I preach not the Gospel 17 For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward   2 John 8 8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought (worked for), but that we receive the full reward   Revelation 22:12 (11:18) 12 And, behold, I come quickly; and My reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be   Revelation 20:12 Books opened…judged according to works
  • Books that contain a record of what we did/didn’t do on the earth (these books are in the Library of Heaven—Archived (preserved)—Important!).  There will be a day when those books containing your name will be opened.
