Given the rapid advancements brought about by tech, there has never been a better time to innovate by developing a startup.
While opportunities to disrupt abound, studies show that one of the major barriers to entry in the startup world is access to capital.
This is especially true for Black founders. In fact, just 1% of venture-funded startup founders are Black. Even worse, 81% of venture capital funds have no Black investors.
I’m talking to Alfred Duncan, a two-time Grammy and Emmy nominated artist, author, speaker, serial entrepreneur, and visionary who has dedicated his life to motivating the masses by traveling the world performing uplifting messages in front of over 100,000 people.
ln addition to the work he does to help catalyze at-risk youth in his hometown community in Washington DC, Alfred is the founder of Black Men Ventures. It’s an organization that offers Black men founders the opportunity to access the capital they need to grow, scale and sustain their businesses.
And we’re going to be talking about how Black founders - with the right support and ecosystems - can begin to narrow the wealth gap through entrepreneurship.
This is the Think Like a Thought Leader show, where Black entrepreneurs, change makers and leaders like you learn to build wealth related to the work you’re called to do in the world.
