How Can God Make My Relationships Better?
In this message Ps Monty talks about how God makes your relationships better.
(1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NLT) Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud (5) or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. (6) It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. (7) Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
(Matthew 1:18-19 NLT) This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit. (19) Joseph, to whom she was engaged, was a righteous man and did not want to disgrace her publicly, so he decided to break the engagement quietly.
(Matthew 1:20-21 NLT) As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. “Joseph, son of David,” the angel said, “do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit. (21) And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
(Matthew 1:24-25 NLT) When Joseph woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded and took Mary as his wife. (25) But he did not have sexual relations with her until her son was born. And Joseph named him Jesus.
How can God make my relationships better?1) Listen to God’s Word2) Act on God’s Word
3) Keep God at the Center of Your Relationships
(Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 NLT) Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. (10) If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. (11) Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? (12) A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.

- What area of your relationship are you asking for God’s wisdom in? Do you find it easy to listen to godly wisdom or do you find worldly wisdom distracting or confusing?
- What is a scripture that has encouraged you to have healthy relationships (with family, friends, single or married, kids)
- What does a relationship centered around Jesus look like?
- When we hear a Word from God, we should put it into practice/ action? What are you putting in action right now? Is there something you want to put into action?
- Have you experienced hurt in the past? How can clean heart help you and your relationships to flourish and be joyful?
