Have you ever heard someone ask, "If there is no god, how can there be meaning in life?"  I sure have.  People think that without a divine influence, there is no meaning to life.  If this life is all there is, how does anything we do matter?  If there is nothing after death, why bother?

I find this question puzzling now.  The question seems so simple now that I have the advantage of hindsight.  But when I was a believer, this did indeed trouble me.

I'll give me thoughts on how I found purpose, and why I think it is so much better without god.
