This week I had the pleasure of chatting with Shaloo Garg, MD of Microsoft for Startups Silicon Valley, a programme that provides startups with the resources to get their product off the ground. Throughout her career, Shaloo has also been a fantastic advocate for women in technology and is currently a 'Champion of Innovation' at UN Women. There, she works with Universities leveraging emerging technologies to encourage digital literacy in developing countries for young girls who don't currently have access to education.

Shaloo strongly believes that technology’s best use case is its power to impact wider social issues like hunger, poverty and STEM education. I had the pleasure of first working with Shaoo at our AI for Good Summit in San Francisco only last year. We've also been collaborating over the past few weeks on some exciting projects for later this year, so it's been fantastic to catch up to hear more about Shaloo's current work, as well as finding out what motivates her every day.
