CU Boulder Assistant Professor of Biochemistry Sabrina Spencer discusses her findings on how cells choose to divide and reproduce. Spencer found that the decision to divide is made during the entire mother cycle of a cell, contrary to the textbook model of cell division. However, according to Spencer, before the textbook model can be overturned, others would also have to come to a similar conclusion. "Generally, it takes more than one study to overturn these sort of things," said Spencer.
