As a key part of net zero, mining is at the heart of the energy transition as producers require vast amounts of materials like lithium, copper and nickel needed. But it’s only the scale of the materials that we need, it's also the speed at which we need them to meet this huge demand.

This month Daniela Jaramillo, Head of Sustainability Solutions speaks with two Fidelity experts on transition materials - Oliver Hextall, Portfolio Manager for Fidelity’s Transition Materials Strategy, and Sam Heithersay, Australian Mining Analyst. They examine how Australian miners could be affected by the repeal of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and what the potential outcomes for new tariffs on aluminium and steel mean for producers. They also discuss opportunities for investors outside of net zero including India’s growth and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
