How Did Glover Teixeira Get SO GOOD?

Glover Teixeira proved so many people wrong. The Brazilian fighter is coming off his most recent win at UFC 267 which saw him become the new UFC light heavyweight champion. This is a rarity for a man who is 42 years old. But because of this win, he became the second oldest champion in UFC history. It has been amazing to see him reach this point in his career because it was a long time coming after many years of highs and lows. First off, it took him nearly 10 years to become a UFC fighter. But once he was there, he quickly rose up the rankings which lead to a shot at the title. Unfortunately, he was unable to capture the belt and afterwards, it seemed like he would never get another chance to fight for it again. But then he went on a 5 fight win streak which lead to the title shot where he won the championship. So how did Glover Teixeira get so good?
