The COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown has taken its toll on everyone, but small businesses have really borne the brunt of the severe economic consequences of lockdown.
Because SMMEs are such a vital part of our economy and in job creation, Finfind set out to research how this year has impacted on the sector. In partnership with various stakeholders, they conducted a study on the impact of lockdown on small business. A sample of 15 000 SMMEs across all sectors in all provinces were engaged, with a response from 1489 businesses - and from this they could see that 42.7% of businesses closed.
