Season 2, Episode 20 somehow manages to be part chaotic rom-com, part emotional spiral - and the whiplash is real.
In this episode, we break down Dawson, Joey, and Jen fully committing to a Parent Trap-style scheme to get Gail and Mitch back together... all while out to dinner. It's awkward, it's messy, and it's honestly kind of hilarious watching them try to control a situation that is very much out of their hands.
But while that's happening, there's a much heavier storyline unfolding. Pacey and Jack are doing everything they can to support Andie, whose mental state is quickly deteriorating as she begins seeing and talking to her late brother. This part of the episode takes a serious turn, and on a rewatch, it hits even harder knowing how real and intense her struggle becomes.
We talk about tonal whiplash, the difference between trying to fix things versus actually helping, and why this episode feels like two completely different stories colliding in one.
