#scrum burndown charts are a tool created to help teams track how much work is being conducted and completed in each #sprint.  

They help track the productivity of the #scrumteam and make work visible to everyone in the team, as well as the #productstakeholders.  

Over time, they can also be used to help the team forecast how much work they will be able to complete over an average sprint.  

Some people feel that it's the #scrummaster role to update the burndown chart but it's often best for the #developers to take responsibility for updating the burndown chart as they progress through each sprint.
