How do I become a friend of sinners?

1. What makes it hard for you to befriend non-Christians?
   
2. Did you resonate with the testimony of the woman who “insulated” herself from her sisters? How can we overcome the tendency to insulate and isolate?
   
3. Jesus considered stopping for Zacchaeus a divine interruption. What keeps you from stopping for the lost or making time for them?
   
4. What message is sent through sharing a meal or showing hospitality to a non-Christian? List three people with whom you could begin to build or rebuild a friendship.
   
5. We aren’t meant to do this alone! What are some ideas for how we can bring our non-Christian friends into the community of our Christian friends?
   
6. Is the popular statement, “Preach the gospel at all times and if necessary use words” biblically accurate? How are good works different from the message of the gospel?
   
7. Write down one step you want to take in reaching out to the non-Christians you listed in question #4. Take a few minutes to pray for these folks.
