As a parent it hurts to see your child face heartbreak and struggle. Yet your adult child also suffers when you as their parent are suffering. All of these trials and tests can come even when one is doing everything right, however we all know they can also come from bad choices. How will our adult child react is the main question. Will these moments of suffering strengthen them or break them? Can they overcome adversity and criticism? You can look at these 2 verses as a reminder that God is for us: “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”
