How do we really know God loves us? Have you ever wondered if God really does love you? Does it seem like God doesn’t care that you are drowning in life? Today we are going to define what love is by God’s own definition, which is a real and powerful love.

 

1 John 3:16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.

 

Love is not the feeling we receive when someone pays special attention to us and says they love us. Love is when things go bad and someone is willing to lay their life down for us. This is what Jesus did for us. When we receive the love he has for us then we do not have to be so needy of others love. We are then able to go lay our life down for another when they don’t deserve it.
