"How Do You Choose To Deal With Conflict?" NON-PERISHABLE GOODS podcast episode #22!
As children, we are taught that if we are bullied or someone messes with you, YOU KNOCK THEIR BLOCK OFF as our first conflict resolution strategy. Then, as we mature, life's experiences teach us to either handle conflict more diplomatically, or believe a one-hitter quitter is still the most effective option. Lee Bishop and I represent these extremes. I choose to handle things with a more peaceful approach while he believes a spanking is necessary for improved behavior.
This episode was extremely intense because we had to explore topics of Free Will, anger and mastering peace. Ego is at the root of most conflicts, and that there's consequences for every action or does repentance lead to redemption? Is it helpful to be "the bigger person", why it's important to stand up for yourself and is ghosting and/or blocking someone an acceptable form of ending a relationship?
We decided to do this show because towards the end of every year people talk about cutting people off, so we figured that many were going to need some conflict resolution guidance for the new year.
