How do you define reality?
Do you believe in superstitions?
E.g. If a cat crosses your path when you are going for an important meeting, do you change direction? Or if someone sneezes just before you leave the house, do you wait for some time before leaving?
Have you challenged any superstitions and found that they weren't applicable all the time?
Our beliefs and values determine our reality.
However, The need to be "Right" and fear of failure can create belief systems that contradict what's happening out there in the world.
Before Roger Bannister created history by running a mile in less than 4 minutes, everyone believed it was impossible. Once done, within a month, someone else broke his record, and since then, many others have broken the 4-minute mile.
Do you remember that time when people did not believe in your capabilities?
Remember that time when you were sure about yourself and went for a seemingly impossible job and succeeded?
How did you manage that? Why didn't others influence you to stop?
Our Mind creates maps of what we believe is real. These maps are based on our senses, and they easily influence us.
Our wishes, desires, and our need to succeed and learn, can be stronger than the beliefs. We can challenge our belief systems and create new maps aligned with what we want and desire.
Deep down, all of us can create new maps and new beliefs to perform better than yesterday. We can lead ourselves to a better life by taking responsibility and be in charge.
What can you do:
* Practice gratitude. Be thankful for your experiences and your beliefs. They have got you here, and their purpose is to support you.
* Practice focusing on your future. Only look to your past beliefs and experiences to learn.
* Remember that positive and negative emotions are the universe's way of telling you when you are on the right track.
* Practice challenging at least one old belief that you may have each day. If they are true, then you learned their purpose. If they were untrue, you learned something new.
Life is all about understanding who we are and how we think. So go ahead and create it the way you want, not how you have been made to believe.
