How do you say "this thing" and "that one"

In this lesson, I will introduce how to say "this thing" and "that one" in Japanese.


これ: the thing you are referring to is close to you 

それ the thing you are referring to is close to the person you are talking to 

あれ the thing you are referring to is neither close to you nor the person you are talking to


これ は わたし の とけい です。

This is my watch.


それ は さとうさん の とけい です。

That is Mr. Sato's watch.


どれ が あなた の とけい ですか。

Which one is your watch?

*どれ means "Which one"  and used for question sentence.
