Part 24 in our #scrummaster #interviewquestions series where John McFadyen answers some of the most common questions asked of scrum masters and #agilecoaches in interviews and client engagements.
This is kind of a trick question. Either the interviewer wants to understand how you perceive your role within the team environment or they think that scrum masters act similar to project managers in a #scrum environment.
A #scrummaster does not choose the backlog items that go into the #sprintbacklog, the developers do - in collaboration with the product owner - and so you wouldn't be choosing the work at all.
That said, let's assume that you have a brand new team who have never done #scrum before and are used to a traditional #projectmanagement environment. How would you help them in this scenario?
In this short video, John McFadyen explains how you can help the team identify valuable user stories in the backlog and decide whether to bring them into the sprint backlog.
