One tactic that I’ve seen some podcasters use lately is creating an audio trailer to promote their podcast. This gives platforms like Apple Podcasts and Google Play a great incentive to promote your show.
It also gives your audience a sneak peek on what to expect with your podcast.
Before they even download a single episode, they get to hear your voice, listen to your introduction, hear a few snippets from a few high-profile episodes, and decide if they’re interested.
It’s like giving your podcast a test drive of sorts without making the commitment just yet.
I recommend making your audio trailer a minute or shorter in length. This is plenty of time to introduce your podcast name, share about who it’s for, include a few short audio bites, and give a call to action, like “Subscribe to the Copy & Content Podcast wherever you find your other favorite podcasts, and we’ll catch you next time on Copy & Content.”
See how that works? It’s an incredible marketing tool that you can use over and over again when connecting with new prospects and audiences.
Give it a try and when your new audio trailer is ready, share it through social media and tag me @keynotecontent so I can give it a listen. You never know, you might find me as one of your newest listeners because of your podcast trailer!
