The Christmas story isn’t tame—it is triumphant, costly, and personal. In Luke 2:8-21, we meet a God who doesn’t stand distant and wave from heaven, but one who comes all the way down to reach us.
On the eighth day (Luke 2:21), Jesus is just one week old and already shedding blood—This is no sentimental narrative, but the stunning declaration that God came to the pain, to the pit, to you. His cradle already carried the shadow of the cross, pointing to what His life would one day fulfill: Yahweh Saves through His own blood.
So, how far will God go? All the way down.
To the world
To the pain.
To you.
That is why Christmas is more than warm lights and songs—it is relentless love in human flesh, and a Savior who stays with us from stable to cross.
